This week I woke up with a 27.1 inch waist! I am super excited because I have dropped 3 inches from my mid-section in 8 weeks. 🙂
Don’t let this post fool you. There are no “ideal” measurements. I simply use a measuring tape to mark my progress and to make sure that I am on the right track. I am dropping inches where I need to, while maintaining/gaining inches where I want to (yes, I said gaining!)
LETS FACE IT:
Pardon my description, but weightlifting can be a HUUUUUUGE mindf**k. Especially for someone who has struggled with an ED in the past. The scale used to be my best friend, yet my worst enemy. And I’ll be the first to admit that it is still difficult to step on and see that I’m 20lbs heavier than I used to be. But then I remind myself to trust the process and focus on statistics that can’t be skewed… so, I pushed the scale aside and began taking my measurements every month.
I am happier and more motivated than ever. Don’t let a number consume you. Don’t give a measly scale the power to control your life.
YOU control your life.
YOU control your dedication.
YOU control your nutrition.
And in turn… YOU have the power to control your results.
